Sailor’s New Limited Edition Anime-Inspired Pen

There is exciting news for pen and anime fans alike, as Japanese brand Sailor have just released an exciting new limited edition pen designed by renowned amine and manga creator, Leiji Matsumoto. This is no ordinary pen; Sailor specialise in the unique and individual, and this latest release does not disappoint in this area! It’s all about the detail.

The pen, dubbed the Sailor 9, combines fun and beauty, with its curvaceous design.  The shape is based on a spaceship design, akin to the theme of Matsumoto’s drawings. In addition to this, the top of the pen cap features Matsumoto’s cute skull design, and the pen’s nib bears his etched autograph.

Sailor are selling this pen in a beautiful presentation box, containing not just the pen but also a pen holder which is reminiscent of a holster, a Sailor ink converter, an ink bottle etched with popular Matsumoto character, Captain Harlock, on its lid, and also a thank you card featuring another of Matsumoto’s characters, Maetel, from anime series Galaxy Express 999.

Sailor have only produced 500 of these special sets, so you’ll have to move fast if you want to get your hands on one! What do you think to the design?
