Although in one of our last blogs, we explored some pretty amazing gift ideas for Father’s Day this year, we thought that it would be a great idea to explore some alternative gifts for an alternative Dad.

Pink Floyd’s Division Bell – 20^th Anniversary Edition

With both The Stone Roses and Nirvana having released highly successful 20^th anniversary packages over the past few years, Rolling Stone Magazine reports that Pink Floyd are to do the very same thing with Division Bell, to mark its 20^th year of release.

Included in the set are two 180 gram vinyls, two 7-inch vinyls, a single 12-inch vinyl, one CD and 5 limited edition collector art prints.

Wolfenstein: New Order – Xbox One

Offering an alternative version of history, one where the Nazis win the Second World War, Wolfenstein: New Order takes place in 1960s Europe and follows main character “B.J.” in his attempts to vanquish the oppressive regime.

A spectacular game that could well be the greatest first person shooter of 2014, the latest edition of the series has been well received by critics with an 83 per cent rating on Games Radar.

If your Dad doesn’t happen to have an Xbox One, the game is also available for PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.

Pixies tickets

With a new album under their belts (alongside a new bassist or two), the Pixies are once again hitting the UK this summer to promote Indie Cindy.

Having hit the UK Album Charts at Number 6, the album represents their first in 23 years and is a combination of three EPs released throughout 2013 and 2014.

For just under £40, the Pixies’ tour of the UK is set to be one of the most memorable of 2014. And of course if your Dad isn’t a fan of Francis Black and co’, the Arctic Monkeys are also touring throughout the summer; so he may just well fancy a sneak peak at the Sheffield boys instead.
